Goblet Squats

The Goblet Squat is a great stand-alone exercise, or finisher lift for following up any leg day with a good muscle pump. In the video I reference reaching knee flexion “faster” a number of times. To clarify, what I mean is having the heel elevated shortens the distance between extension and flexion (of the knee). I just used the word faster for the sake of brevity while filming. What the heel elevation also does is alleviate any mobility issues one might have in the ankles. If your gym doesn’t have wedges like the ones in the video, just find a plate you can lay down and stand with your heels on the plate and toes on the floor to perform the squat.

Another cue not in the video is to move as if your back is sliding down a wall. If you’ll notice, especially with my heels elevated, my back is totally upright. This will help you bias your quads all the better by keeping your back mostly out of the lift.
