Trap Bar Back Rows

So, in the set-up I mention engaging the lats by pushing down. What’s meant is this: push your hand down essentially alongside and just past the bar and feel your lats get tight. Then, grab the handles, keeping the lats tight, and just take up the slack of the dead weight (as if you’re lifting it off the floor, but just stop when you feel the weight is fully under the control of your grasp - while keeping in position to execute the lift).

Now pull the weight off the floor by contracting your back musculature. Complete the concentric pull with a slight pause and bring the weight back to just above the floor. Don’t reset at the floor (that’s another lift altogether), stop above it and continue into another concentric pull. Wash, rinse, repeat.
